Opera 8 Final Is Here

Opera's fast and standards compliant browserAn official announcement of Opera 8 Final is due just about any time now. If you scout around you will find this announced in a semi-official manner. The UI of this Opera release is very neat and clean. All fluff is removed but can be enabled back via menus.

I noticed two problems with it right from the outset:

  1. Hyperlinks are a pain to drag. It’s much more painful than with an extension or two in Firefox. Even Maxthon handles link drags better. In Opera you have to click a link, hold it and drag it to the top. If you don’t time it right, you end up selecting text on the page instead. Not cool.
  2. There was some bizzare error when I highlighted a chunk of text and tried to print it as a selection. I had no problem sending the entire page to the exact same printer, though. Weird.

Keep an eye on Opera’s web site and grab it while it’s hot. If you’re impatient (like me), head to Neowin—they have a download link.

Update: For the first time now you can read MSDN in Opera! It actually works! Yehaw!

It is pity but I fond some rendering problems in new Opera release. So most stable and correct version it is 7.54, or may be something with my divs:)
