Link Exchange and Product Endorsement

I’ve been receiving more and more requests for link exchange. I wanted to take a minute to say where I stand on this. Guys, I simply don’t run a link directory and don’t intend to add a link "silo" ever. I’m trying to keep this site focused on ASP.NET and web standards. I don’t want it to look like yet another link repository. I’m even thinking about completely redoing my Resources page (suggestions?) because it looks like a link dump at this point. Not good.

I update the developer and designer reads you see in the sidebar on a regular basis, though. If you’re a consistent and focused blogger who publishes high-quality content, I’d be happy to list you there!

On the other hand, I’ve talked about a few commercial products over the past couple of months. Nobody pays me for this. If I come across a product and I like it a lot, I’ll give you all the credit you deserve and write up a post about it.

For example, last week I received a link from Geoffrey McGill about his custom Date Picker control for ASP.NET, Basic Date Picker™, that relies primarily on CSS for styling and works across a wide range of browsers. Now, that’s something you don’t see every day! I intend to play with the control and, perhaps, write a post about it.

If you, guys, feel your product or blog is in tune with the theme of this site, don’t be shy—share a link!

The resources section is fine as it is. It's not overly populated, and you've ensured the content is relevant - since you're not linking anything I see no problem. What's more is it's been darn handy - so I'd hate to see a change!
